Man wanders off trail in Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades and is airlifted by Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter.

A man was rescued Monday night by a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter after he hiked off trail and lost his way in Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades. He was uninjured and did not require medical transport, according to LAFD spokesman Erik Scott.

LAFD received a call of a hiker in distress at 7:02 p.m. in Temescal Canyon.

"He got off the trail he thought he was on," Scott said. "He was confused on getting back to his car. He called 911."

The man, who was unidentified, was airlifted by LAFD helicopter to the nearby baseball field at Palisades Charter High School.
