Lost Hiker Airlifted from Santa Ynez Canyon

Los Angeles firefighters hoist lost hiker in Pacific Palisades.

Los Angeles firefighters and park rangers located a lost hiker, uninjured, in a remote area of the Santa Ynez Canyon Park Saturday evening, a fire department spokesman said.

The hiker was located about a mile north of a waterfall in the park, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Eric Scott said.

A helicopter was used to hoist the hiker to safety at the Santa Ynez Reservoir, Scott said.
