The Western Division of the Los Angeles Police Department reminds vehicle owners to practice the lock it, hide it, keep it routine.

The following message is from Officer Sandra Donaway of the Western Division of the :

Don't be a victim of auto-related property crime

  • Lock it - A reminder to always lock your vehicle.
  • Hide it - If you must leave valuables in the vehicle, hide them from plain sight.
  • Keep it - a positive reminder that personal responsibility can safeguard your valuables from theft.

If you see anything that you feel is suspicious, but not an emergency, go to www.alertcommunity.com. It allows citizens to document suspicious activity quickly, easily, and anonymously. This website contributes to the safety of our community and to the prevention of crime. The database is accessed only by the LAPD. They would help our community to avoid be coming victims.
