I-405 Hazard Repaired After Flattened Tires

Metro reports a drainage grate near Skirball Center Way came loose Tuesday night.

A hazard on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway that flattened tires on 10 vehicles in the Sepulveda Pass was repaired overnight, authorities said Wednesday.

Marc Littman of Metro said a 3-by-2-foot drainage grate near Skirball Center Way came loose about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, leaving a depression several inches deep that flattened tires.

Littman said the problem was fixed overnight.

The problem was along a stretch of freeway where overpasses are being replaced and a car pool lane is being added.

Not sure. There's not always an immediate answer to helicopters circling. Did anyone else hear orRead More see this? How long did it last? Was it just 1 copter or many police units?
