Hiker Rescued at Santa Ynez Canyon Park

The hiker is rescued by firefighters and is not injured.

The Los Angeles Fire Department rescued a hiker at Santa Ynez Canyon Park near Palisades Drive and Vereda De La Montura in Pacific Palisades Sunday night.

LAFD Spokesman Matt Spence said air and ground crews were sent out at about 7:17 p.m. and rescued the hiker via a hoist operation at about 8 p.m.

The 30-year-old male hiker was not injured, but Spence said he may have been in a tough spot since LAFD ground crews couldn't reach him. Air crews picked the hiker up and landed in a safe place, according to Spence.
