A continued red flag warning for much of the area caused the Los Angeles Fire Department to deploy more firefighters in the locations susceptible to extreme fire weather.
On Monday, City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl reported the activation of additional resources for Engine 469 at Fire Station 69 in Pacific Palisades, Brush Patrol 23 in the Castellammare and Palisades Highlands communities, Brush Patrol 19 in Brentwood, and Brush Patrol 109 in the Mountaingate and Sepulveda Pass communities.
Engine 469, staffed with four members, will provide increased personnel in the Pacific Palisades, while the three Brush Patrol units, each staffed with two firefighters, will patrol their respective communities and provide rapid response and intervention to any sighting of smoke or fire.
On Tuesday, spokesman Tony Arranaga said Engine 469 is fully staffed in Palisades, along with a brush patrol in the Mountaingate/Sepulveda Pass area for 12 hours Tuesday and possibly 24 hours.
