what is so bad about DUI check points? I think they protect us from "them". Remember folks please don't text message and drive a car that is just as bad. I see this all the time when i ride my Ducati. cheers H.X.

Are these arrests for DUI or something else? Most of the stats on these checkpoints show they are mostly netting people for other reasons such as driving without a license or an outstanding warrant. Then they tout the success of the operation in big print but when you read the details you unfortunately see very few actual DUI arrests. This news story doesn't specify.

Many people get a DUI after just one drink. Laws need to be relooked at.

Bail bond agents, insurance agents, cities and others all love DUI offenders. It is big business. It is big money.

"Guess How Many Drunken Drivers L.A. County Agencies Arrested" Well, one would have to do just that, because this article certainly doesn't give us a clue. A teaser title, and a repeat of an agency press release. Misleading and shoddy journalism, the Patch can do better than mixing editorial opinion with actual news.
