Dept. of Beaches & Harbors Employee Injured in Bike Accident

The accident reportedly occurred at Will Rogers State Beach Monday afternoon.

Los Angeles County Lifeguards responded to a bike accident, resulting in a head injury, behind Tower #15 on the bike path just after 5 p.m. Monday. Capt. Robert Torres called in for L.A. City Paramedics to transport the 30-year-old woman, reportedly an employee of Los Angeles County Department of Beaches & Harbors. Ocean Lifeguard Mark Chambers was first on scene and stabilized the woman's head and applied pressure to blood coming from the head.

The victim was transported to hospital by L.A. City Fire Department paramedics.

Back up included Ocean Lifeguard Specialist Brian Merrigan out of WR #14 and a call car from the Santa Monica headquarters (OLS' Harry Varnas and Kevin Curtis).
