All Lanes Back Open on PCH East of Las Flores After Traffic Collision and Hydrant Burst Next to Moonshadows

A vehicle sheared a fire hydrant, causing it to burst.

9:15 a.m. UPDATE: All PCH lanes are open again in both directions, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station.

8:30 a.m. UPDATE: One lane in each direction of Pacific Coast Highway is open, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station. Delays should be expected. The collision occurred in front of the parking lot next to , which is located at 20356 PCH

A traffic accident on Pacific Coast Highway just east of Las Flores Canyon Road has closed the eastbound lanes of the highway in that area, according to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station at 8:17 a.m.

"A fire hydrant was sheared off on PCH east of Las Flores [Canyon Road] during a traffic accident," an e-mail from the sheriff's station states. "The resulting water caused the closure of the eastbound lanes. It is unknown how long the closure will last at this time."
