Introducing the Pali Blues Blog!

Welcome to the Pali Blues blog on Pali Patch! The Pali Blues, are a the W-League team, with Palisades Charter High School's Stadium by the Sea as its home venue.

Welcome to the Pali Blues blog on Pali Patch! The Pali Blues are a women’s soccer team that plays in the Western Conference of the W-League, a branch of United Soccer Leagues (USL). Palisades Charter High School’s Stadium by the Sea is our home venue.

Since its inception in 2008, Pali Blues Soccer Club has been home to some of the world best soccer players each summer including international stars like England’s Karen Bardsley, the USA’s Amy LePeilbet, Italy’s Ilaria Pasqui, Australians Sarah Walsh and Collette McCallum, New Zealand’s Ali Riley, and Mexico’s Iris Mora. The list goes on…

Pali Blues Soccer Club has also been a hot destination for the nation’s top collegiate players to develop and prepare for the fall season at their schools. The Blues have had the honor to bring in players like Kelley O’Hara, Christen Press, Alex Morgan, Tobin Heath, Lauren Cheney, and Ashlyn Harris during their college years. All these players have gone on to play for the US Women’s National Team.

With names like those you can bet the Blues have accomplished big things in the W-League. Lead by Coach Charlie Naimo, they won the W-League Championship in 2008, and followed with another league title in 2009; all while going undefeated those two years. The Blues suffered their first loss in 2010 on June 19 against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

This year, the Pali Blues will look to get back to winning as they go for their third championship in five years. Naimo is wholly committed to guiding his 2012 squad to another winning season. He is bringing top talent to the team from universities across the country, with still some potential to acquire top professional players for the season. So far, the Blues have announced Texas A&M’s Beth West, Pepperdine’s Anisa Guajardo, Lynn Williams, and Michelle Pao, in addition to CSUF’s Ann Tangorra, and Maryland’s Lydia Hastings and Danielle Hubka.
