Cyclist hit on Temescal

A young man, approx age 25-27, was struck by an old model black Mercedes while riding in the uphill bike lane.  The driver of the vehicle was approx 27 years of age and identified himself as the owner of the car.  The cyclist was unresponsive and unconscious at the time LAFD paramedics arrived and appeared to have severe head trauma.  He was transported to St. Johns.  Several witnesses who claim to have seen the accident occur said that the cyclist was hit pretty hard and was thrown off of his bike and into the air by approx 10 to 20 feet.
