Bill Bruns Fired and who Alan Smolinsky really is

I've had a sneaking suspicion about the new Owner of the Palisadean Post and his intentions.   The first time I heard the name Alan Smolinsky was when he bought the paper.  He wrote a long column about all the good he was going to do and how he was going to make the paper profitable again.  First thing he does is sell off the printing business and their employees.  Next came the building ($5million from the new Owners, Rodeo Realty.   Last week, there's an article about bill Bruns retiring and a new editor coming on - a friend of the family with little true journalistic experience - unless you count ghost-writing diet books for doctors.  And, today, I hear Bill Bruns was fired when trying to speak his mind about administrative changes Team Smolinsky wanted to make.  Perhaps Bill doesn't like the idea of turning the Post into something like "Brentwood Magazine," and I agree with him.

All the while, Alan takes the money from the sales, employee gutting, and cronyism, driving his Bentley (or Ferrari) past the secure gates of his mammoth Chautaugua estate.

Mr. Smolinsky is looking more like a spoiled rich corporate raider than a caring member of the community with good intentions.

I've known the Staff of The Post for years and have enjoyed getting my news, with all it's warts, for years.

Alan, you still have time to fix this.  Or is there more money in the Post still to extract?
