'MomFair' Event Founded By Pacific Palisades Resident

On Oct. 3, MomAngeles founder Laura Nix Gerson will hold an inaugural 'Momfair' job and conference fair to help moms get back to work.

Pacific Palisades resident, mompreneuer, blogger, and MomAngeles founder Laura Nix Gerson will launch the inaugural MomFair: Job Fair and Conference for on Oct. 3 at the Doubletree Hotel in Culver City.

“As working moms we understand the challenges mothers face when re-entering the workforce.” Gerson said in a release. “The truth is, all moms are working moms - managing a household, multiple schedules, carpools, homework, keeping the family stocked and supplied- it’s a lot to do. The addition of employment to all of the above – let’s just say working moms are superheroes.”

The daylong event will showcase guest speakrs and workshops designed exclusively for moms re-entering the workforce. Special guests include Urbansitter CEO Lynn Perkins, The Pump Station & Nurtury CEO Cheryl Petran, Executive Director of the California Women’s Conference, Michelle Patterson and KOST103.5 FM’s Kristin Cruz.

Programming at MomFair includes The Business of Blogging, hosted by MomsLA and MomAngeles, and How to Start a Fitness Business with Kaia Fit. There will also be speed-recruiting sessions with Los Angeles-based recruiters, and a Work from Home Marketplace with more than a dozen vendors including Winnie & Kat, Stella & Dot, Primerica and Okolia.

In addition, all moms attending the event will receive a FREE MomAngeles Card valued at $35 which offers Moms "perks" around Los Angeles with companies like UrbanSitter, FamilyCord, The Pump Station, BeautyCollection, Kidville and LornaJane.

Attendees are also asked to bring new or gently used items to donate to Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles charity that provides families in need with essential baby gear and clothing for their children. To further support this effort, The Honest Co. and The Pump Station have teamed up to offer a special gift to the first 100 moms who bring gently used items to donate to Baby2Baby.
