Jake Steinfeld Selected as Palisades' 28th Honorary Mayor

Steinfield will ride in the Fourth of July parade.

Actor Jake Steinfield has been chosen by the Pacific Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce as the 28th honorary mayor. He will service a two-year term.

Since 1951 the chamber of commerce has had the job of picking an honorary mayor. Next Thursday, June 13, Steinfeld, of the fitness equipment line “Body by Jake” and the National Lacrosse League will be installed. 

"We feel that we’ve done a good job," said Chamber Executive Director Arnie Wishnick.

Some past honorary mayors have served more than two years, such as Ted Knight, John Raitt, Steve Guttenberg who served four years.

Wishnick said Gavin MacLeod of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Love Boat served 5 years, and Oscar winners have served, such as the late Walter Matthau, Rita Moreno, Anthony Hopkins.

Next Thursday June 13th Jake Steinfeld of “Body by Jake” and the National Lacrosse League will be installed.

"One thing is for sure, Palisadians will be in better shape than ever," Wishnick added.
