Topanga Canyon Gallery Kicks Off The Holiday Season

Topanga Canyon Gallery's Holiday Show is here. It will be on view from Nov. 28 to Jan. 6 with an opening reception on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The holidays are upon us again. At Topanga Canyon Gallery, each year artists come together to celebrate the season and feature their many talents. Paintings, sculpture, watercolors, pastels, ceramics, glass, jewelry, gourd art, mixed media, photography, will all be part of this year’s exhibition.

This Saturday, Dec. 1, Topanga Canyon Gallery holds an opening reception for its annual Holiday Show from 4 to 8 p.m.

Topanga Canyon Gallery, formerly known as the Topanga Artists’ Guild, has been in existence since the 1950's. Like most galleries recession has affected sales and its everyday maintenance. Despite the tough economic times, Topanga Canyon Gallery continues to have loyal customers. As an artist owned collective the customers are basically buying directly from the artists. The gallery only takes a small percentage of sales.

The Holiday show is a wonderful chance to enjoy the season while shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts crafted by local artists. Once again, this year, small works will be available from $20 to $50. The gallery has chosen to waive its 20 percent commission on the $50 wall of art. Larger works such as paintings will also be available for under $1,000.

The Holiday Show will be on view from Nov. 28 to Jan. 6 with an opening reception on Saturday, Dec. 1. The gallery will also be open late during Pine Tree Circle’s annual snow night, Saturday December 15th, when the kids (and grown-up kids) frolic in real snow.

Topanga Canyon Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11a.m. to 5 p.m.
