Back To School

For so many of us, the new year starts in September, when the world goes back to school. This is the time of year to start something new.

For so many of us, the new year starts in September, when the world goes back to school.  Brand new notebooks, pencil packs and pristine binders line the store aisles and remind us that the there is a new clean page, and we are turning it over.

Even though decades have passed since I sat in a classroom, I still live in a calendar where the first month is September.  This is the time of year to start something new.

Back to school means back to business, the summer is over.  I stop postponing what I want to do, and actually need to do.   My nose refocuses on the grindstone. Chosen books become more serious, postponed dinner parties get scheduled.   I register for a class, try a new workshop.

What really lies in this “mind set” is a hope that things, all kind of things, can be improved...that the best is yet to come. September feeds my optimism.  I love it.

With this new resolve, new regime, cleaning out the old ideas, I am starting on a new page. Transition becomes change, the future meets us in the doorway, and we look ahead.

Is this a good time to think about moving?  Yes, yes, yes.  In the next two weeks, I’ll be posting on the Patch the reasons why, first from a seller’s point of view and then from a buyer’s.  Stay tuned. The best is yet to come.
