Santa Monica Bay Restoration Foundation 25th Anniversary Gala

Santa

Monica Bay Restoration Foundation 25th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 17 to Highlight Stories of the Bay, Sustainable Seafood

Honorees include Mel Levine, H. David Nahai, Senator Fran Pavley

The Santa Monica Bay Restoration Foundation will celebrate 25 years of advocating for

the Santa Monica Bay on October 17th.  This is the first anniversary event the organization has ever held, and its theme is the accomplishments and

stories about the Bay itself told through the eyes of man —from environmental

advocates, recreators and patrons to scientists, businesses and government officials—who have a strong connection to the Bay.

Honorees include former U.S. Representative Mel Levine; environmental attorney and former Chair, Los Angeles Regional Water

Quality Control Board, David Nahai; and CA State Senator Fran Pavley. Sheila

Kuehl will emcee the evening.  The first Urban Coast Environmental Hero

Award will be presented at the event to Suzanne Goode, CA Dept. of Parks and

Recreation.  For more information, tickets, sponsorship opportunities and stories about the Bay, please go to http://www.santamonicabay.org/smbrf25.html.

Signature dishes created for the 25th celebration that feature sustainable and locally caught Santa Monica Bay seafood will be

served, along with hors d’oeuvres and premium organic wine from Frey

Vineyards.
