ICE at Santa Monica Celebrates Winterlit with Grand Opening Nov. 7

Downtown Santa Monica’s enormously popular ICE at Santa Monica skating rink returns for its 7th year and will be open from Nov. 1 through Jan. 20, just in time for the holiday season. The grand opening celebration on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. marks the kick off of Winterlit celebrations in the city. Hosted by Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. and skating champion, Randy Gardner, the ICE opening will feature performances by synchronized skating team, California Gold, and some of California’s most elite skaters.

The festivities include a full night of FREE skating until 10 p.m., music from DJ Dlux and tastings from area restaurants like Del Frisco’s Grille, Kreation Juice, VitaCoco, Rosti and Real Food Daily. Sweet samples will be provided from Hollywood Candy and Chocolate Opulence, and there will be an interactive, self-snap photo booth and kids crafts and activities for the entire family.

On November 7, 2013 from 6 pm- 10 pm ICE is FREE to the public. Donations of unwrapped toys will be accepted for Santa Monica PAL Best Gift Ever.  General admission to ICE is $12 per person throughout the season.
