Venetian Masked Ball featuring special guest Eddie Izzard

The Los Angeles World Affairs Council (LAWAC) invites you to its Venetian Masked Ball on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. The black-tie fundraiser kicks off LAWAC’s 60th anniversary Diamond Jubilee year and will feature an evening of fine dining and dancing, as well as remarks from special guest Eddie Izzard, the highly acclaimed British comedian and EMMY® Award-winning actor.

Izzard will be introduced by Renée Montagne, co-host of NPR’s Morning Edition, the highest-rated news program on radio. The evening will also feature entertainment from Studio Zanni, a traditional Venetian Commedia dell’Arte troupe, and the Susie Hansen Latin Band. The event begins with a 6:00 p.m. reception followed by 7:00 p.m. dinner and dancing.

All guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the evening by wearing a mask. Italian import company Gioia is the official mask sponsor of LAWAC’s Venetian Masked Ball. Their handcrafted masks are available for purchase at lawac.gioiacompany.com.

LAWAC is Southern California's biggest public affairs forum for global issues. Since its foundation 60 years ago, the Council has hosted eight US presidents, more than 250 foreign heads of state and a long list of influential international figures. As a non-partisan organization, the Council does not endorse any point of view or take any institutional stand on issues of public debate. We welcome a wide variety of opinions from our speakers and our members. (www.lawac.org)
