Sunset Boulevard Bridge to Close for Improvements

The bridge will be closed overnight through early August.

The Sunset Boulevard Bridge will be closed two nights each week between Church Lane and the northbound Sunset Boulevard ramps  from July 21 to Aug. 4.

According to the Metro website, the closure is due to Sunset Bridge improvements and water line replacement.

Full night closures are expected to take place from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. on July 21 for two nights, and again from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. on July 27-28 and Aug. 3-4. Lane reductions will be implemented when the bridge is not fully closed.

Per Metro's website, when the bridge is completely closed, traffic will be detoured as follows:

Westbound Sunset Boulevard traffic will be detoured to Sepulveda Way to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to southbound Church Lane and back to Sunset Boulevard.

Eastbound Sunset Boulevard traffic will be detoured to northbound Church Lane, to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to eastbound Montana Avenue, to northbound Veteran Avenue, back to Sunset Boulevard.

Closure dates will fluctuate, so check the Metro website for the most up-to-date information. Click on the "Closures" tab to get daily construction updates.
