Sepulveda Lanes to Close Overnight Near Getty Center

The lanes on Sepulveda Boulevard will be re-striped in preparation for bridge widening work.

Beginning Thursday, Sepulveda Boulevard at Getty Center Drive will be down to one lane in each direction while crews reconfigure the traffic lanes, according to Metro.

A construction notice from Metro stated that lanes on Sepulveda Boulevard will be re-striped and there will be k-rail placement in preparation for bridge widening work.

The lane reduction will take place from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. Thursday and Friday.

Details of the lane closures on Sepulveda Boulevard are as follows:

  • One lane in each direction will be open on Sepulveda Boulevard during work hours.
  • After the re-striping is completed, traffic on southbound Sepulveda Boulevard will have one lane open and northbound Sepulveda Boulevard will have two lanes open.
  • Left turn pockets at Sepulveda and Getty Center Drive will remain open.
  • Lane reconfiguration will take place during museum non-visiting hours.

After the lane reconfiguration is complete, crews will demolish the retaining walls on the west side of the 405 Freeway, according to Metro.
