Reminder: Southbound 405 Freeway to Close for Construction

According to Metro, lanes will start closing at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The southbound 405 Freeway will be closed overnight from the 101 Freeway to Getty Center Drive Tuesday as crews temporarily widen the freeway to support construction of the Mulholland Bridge, according to Metro.

Metro officials say crews will also be installing bridge falsework at the Mulholland Bridge, which is something that helps support structures during construction.

The southbound lanes will begin to close at 10 p.m. Tuesday, but ramps may close as early as 7 p.m., according to Metro. Full closure will be from 12 a.m.- 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Metro officials say Sepulveda Boulevard will not be closed near the construction area during the full freeway closures and that emergency personnel will have access at all times.
