Night Crews to Move Verizon Lines; Will Cause Street Closures

Crews began excavating Verizon telecommunication lines along Sepulveda Boulevard between Bronwood Avenue and Cashmere Street Monday and will continue work through Nov. 30.

Work began Monday night on the removal of a Verizon telecommunication line along Sepulveda Boulevard between Bronwood Avenue and Cashmere Street.

The excavation will prompt street closures in the area through Nov. 30 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., according to a Metro press release.

The following intersections will be affected: Cashmere Street at Sepulveda Boulevard; Montana Avenue at Sepulveda Boulevard; Homedale Street at Sepulveda Boulevard; Bronwood Avenue at Sepulveda Boulevard, the press release stated.

Motorists can expect the following, according to Metro:

  • Sepulveda Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction during work hours.
  • Intersections will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for a maximum of three nights.
  • Residential traffic will be detoured to the next available street.
  • Montana Avenue traffic will be maintained in both directions.

A five-month construction project also began Monday to install a sewer line along Sepulveda Boulevard between Montana Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. The sewer construction project will also cause closures in the Sepulveda Boulevard area.
