Montana Ave. to Close Nightly For Storm Drain Work

Full closure of the Montana Avenue undercrossing will begin Monday night.

Montana Avenue will be closed between Sepulveda Boulevard and Church Lane nightly beginning Monday. According to Metro, crews will be replacing a storm drain line and removing catch basins in the area.

Work will be from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. and will continue nightly for about two months, according to a Metro press release.

The Montana Avenue undercrossing of the 405 Freeway will be closed nightly, but will reopen each morning, stated the release. The closures may begin as early as 7 p.m., with full closure at 9 p.m.

Due to the storm drain work, Metro officials said the Montana off-ramp may also close intermittently.

  • Eastbound Montana Avenue traffic will be detoured to northbound Church Lane, to southbound Sepulveda Boulevard and then back to Montana.
  • Westbound Montana Avenue traffic will be detoured to northbound Sepulveda Boulevard, to southbound Church Lane and then back to Montana.

Metro noted that there may also be utility relocation work at the Sepulveda Boulevard/Church Lane intersection. In that instance, traffic will be detoured as follows:

  • Westbound Montana Avenue traffic will be detoured to northbound Sepulveda, to eastbound Moraga Drive, to southbound Acanto Street and then back to Church Lane/Ovada Place.

According to Metro, Sepulveda Boulevard traffic will be down to one lane in each direction during work hours. However, emergency vehicles will have access to all areas.
