Average gas prices in Los Angeles County edged slightly downward Sunday, ending a 30-day streak of increases that brought the price up 57.3 cents over four months, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve unleaded in L.A. County was $4.322, down one-tenth of a cent. At its peak, the price was the highest amount since Oct. 25.
The average L.A. price is 5.2 cents more than one week ago, 57.3 cents higher than one month ago and 7.7 cents greater than one year ago.
Prices in the Pacific Palisades area, meanwhile, hovered around $4.48 a gallon for unleaded, according to gasbuddy.com user reports, with Chevron at 17301 Pacific Coast Hwy. and Sunset Boulevard posting the lowest price at $4.39.
