L.A. County Gasoline Prices Continue to Fall

The average price is 4.7 cents less than a week ago and 9.4 cents lower than one month ago.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline fell in Los Angeles County Monday for the 14th consecutive day, dropping three-tenths of a cent to $4.288.

The average price is 4.7 cents less than a week ago and 9.4 cents lower than one month ago but 14.4 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. Monday's decline was the 18th in the past 19 days.

The average price dropped four consecutive days from March 22-25, rose one-tenth of a cent March 26, then resumed declining the following day. It has decreased 9.8 cents over the past 19 days, including six-tenths of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price fell Monday for the 14th consecutive day and 20th time in 21 days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.267, which is 4.8 cents less than a week ago and 9.9 cents lower than one month ago but 13.4 cents more than one year ago.
