Bobcat Spotted on Dulce Ynez Lane Property

A Pacific Palisades resident reported the surprising sighting Saturday after hearing unusual noise from his trash cans.

When Dulce Ynez Lane resident Charlie Bisharat sat down on his deck Saturday afternoon overlooking Palisades Drive, he did not expect to see a wild animal hunting nearby in broad daylight.

"It was very quick," he said in an interview Sunday morning, talking about some unusual noise from his trash cans.

A bobcat then came sauntering down with a squirrel in its mouth. At first, Bisharat thought it was a mountain lion or a coyote.

"Then I noticed it had these stripes on its tail and feet, and realized it was no coyote," he said. "I was flabbergasted. It was so nonchalant. It didn’t see me. It was fascinating to watch this hunt."

Note: The sighting was so quick Bisharat could not grab a photo. The photo posted is a file photo from a last week.

Not sure. There's not always an immediate answer to helicopters circling. Did anyone else hear orRead More see this? How long did it last? Was it just 1 copter or many police units?
