Average Gas Prices Continue to Rise in Pacific Palisades

Increase due to low production levels at Southern California refineries.

The average price of regular gasoline now stands at $4.28 in Los Angeles County, steadily rising since the beginning of 2013.  

Prices increased 53.8 cents in the past 25 days in Los Angeles County and are now the highest in the state. Gas is still below its highest recorded average of $4.70 registered on Oct. 9, 2012, according to AAA.

In Pacific Palisades, the lowest price for regular gasoline is $4.25 at Palisades Gas & Wash, located at 890 Alma Real Dr., according to Gas Buddy.

The average county price is 12.6 cents more than one week ago, 55.2 cents higher than one month ago and 25.2 cents greater than one year ago.

The increasing prices are the result of reduced supplies caused by low levels of production in Southern California stemming from refinery maintenance, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
