Diane Keaton made an out-of-character $5.6 million purchase - a Cape Cod-inspired home in Pacific Palisades built in 2009, it was reported this weekend.

The property includes a outside living room with a fireplace and a swimming pool with spa.

Keaton, whose best actress Oscar was awarded for her role in 1977's "Annie Hall," stars in the films "Darling Companion" and "The Wedding," both due for release in October. Also this fall, her latest book "Diane Keaton: House" will be on shelves.

The home came on the market in March at $5.75 million. David Kelmenson of was the listing agent. Aileen Comora and Paul Lester of the Agency in Beverly Hills represented Keaton, The Times reported.
