Crafters Juicing New Blends in Palisades and Brentwood

With no freezers on site, the Los Angeles Juice Crafters locations are modeled after their Italian shops.

There's a new organic juice and smoothie creator in Pacific Palisades, and their latest location opened on July 5 at 15324 Antioch Street.

Juice Crafters, priding itself on always fresh ingredients and operating without any freezers on site, specializes in several different blended juices and smoothies, aimed at different flavors and health essentials. The store deals in only fresh fruits and vegetables.

The 16- to 20-ounce smoothies and juices are priced between $6 and $7.

According to owner Ilan Mit, they have also have a location at 11682 San Vincente Blvd., as well as two locations in Italy and 10 in Israel. The American shops took shape after the Italian locations. They currently have five employees at the Palisades location.

"We love the neighborhood and the people here," he said in an interview Monday, where the customers milled into the store curious of different drinks to try. "This is old America, and it's like an island in L.A."

For first timers, Mit suggested trying the Lily, one of four offered smoothies that fall under Juice Crafters' "meal replacement" menu. The flavorful concoction contains almond milk, banana, dates and granola. There are also smoothies such as the Bear Mountain, East West, Venice Cove and Oh Yes!

For juice drinks, they are broken down into four categories of Green Force, Truly Earth, Body/Mind Detox and Essential. (My personal favorites are the Rootier #6, containing beet, apple, lemon and ginger and the Cleaner #10, containing pineapple, apple and mint). They also offer a full detox plan of drinking seven juices a day.

Mit said they check their computers each week to determine the most popular drinks purchased, and then list them on a chalkboard outside near their entrance the following week.

Juice Crafters offers a happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. where all juices and smoothies are 10 percent off. They also have a delivery bike and cart that will soon begin doing orders in Pacific Palisades.
