Restaurant Review: Vincente
Brief restaurant review of Vincente Restaurant on San Vincente Blvd.
Vincente, unlike Wilshire, the restaurant, is actually not cleverly named after the street on which it resides but rather after the man who was the inspiration for the restaurant. We have all passed this establishment hundreds of times over the years, but few of us have had the expendable income to venture inside.
Since it has been in existence for 14+ years, I finally saved enough Krugerrands to take my trophy wife of 38 years to this amazing establishment. And what a treat it was! The room is elegant, the service professional and nonintrusive, the cocktails and wine perfect, and the food-a palate’s utter delight. In addition, we were seated in a comfortable booth and could actually have a conversation and hear one another without using amplification. During the meal my wife’s visage expressed the utter euphoria that no other form of entertainment can provide for her.
In the end, despite our many years together, my wife demurely admitted that if this restaurant were a man she would, in a nanosecond, leave me for him, and I suspect that she surely will have her share of mealtime trysts with Vincente. I, too, will return to Vincente- as soon as American Express takes me off its watch list.
