Blog | Waxman Watch: End the 38-Year Tenure

Arthur Christopher Schaper is a resident of the 33rd Congressional District informing voters to end the 38-year tenure of Henry Waxman and elect independent Bill Bloomfield.

To the residents of Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica:

38 years is too much and not enough for one Congressman to stay in power.

In recent years, Congressman Henry Waxman has presented himself to be an
unprepared, unaccountable, and unacceptable legislator.

His hearings over steroid use in Major League Baseball were marred be his overt

ignorance of the basic laws regulating steroid use in this country.

While this country is facing a $16 trillion debt, Waxman claims in open committee that "We're Not Broke."

In a recent interview, Waxman declared that this country is in a depression, then
in a recession, then proceeds to blame the current econoic hardships of this country on
the Bush Administration. Yet Mr. Waxman has been in government for the past 38
years, with nothing to show for debt or deficit reduction or job creation.

Henry Waxman has authored some of the most divisive legislation in American History, including ObamaCare, a law which passed with strong opposition from Republicans and Democrats, and to this day remains unpopular with a majority of the American People. The largest tax increase in modern times, ObamaCare has diminished access to healthcare while forcing insurance premiums higher.

Residents of the Santa Monica Bay, California, and the United States deserve more informed and accountable representatives.

Please visit "Waxman Watch" (waxmanwatch.blogspot.com) for more information.

Vote for Independent Bill Bloomfield for the 33rd!

Henry Waxman, most recently, has protected us from efforts by Republicans to throw out all regulations, which, of course, include those related to clean air, clean water, toxic waste, food and drugs, and everything else related to safety. Though Bill Bloomberg would like to pass himself off as an Independent, he is a foxy Rebublican disguised in sheep's clothing. Henry has been in government for the past 38 years because he is one of the best representatives serving in our Congress today. Frankly, I am surprised to see the Santa Monica Patch publish a blog so lacking in content that it hardly deserves to be published as a letter to the editor.

Is Freedom of Speech only acceptable to you if you like the content?? This from a retired teacher! The Patch is one of the last remaining portals for us to exercise this constitutional right. Thank goodness as a result of redistricting Waxman no longer represents my district and the people of Santa Monica should be prepared to vote for change. Waxman is way past his due date.

Ever notice how every tax increase is "The Biggest Tax Increase In History"--Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the size of the country is "The Biggest In History"...Duh...
It's fine to make an argument for or against Waxman; but, alas, RNC/Fox "News" talking points do not qualify as 'worth reading'. Sorry. Does anyone have an original thought on this, or is it all going to be parrot talk?

Too many people on Patch just spewing hate speech and bigotry. Patch is not a news organization it is just a collection of people writing nonsense. These people are not reporters just people out to polarize. Waxman is elected and if he won elections to keep him in office for 100 years well that is America. It is one thing to disagree with the policies that Waxman has supported but to publicly insult him in a forum is so disgusting - shame on those people who do it and for Patch for allowing it to occur as a blog on their site. Leave the dumb comments where they belong - in the comment section.....

"Bloomfield" -- not "Bloomberg".
Bloomfield is an Independent in every way -- he refuses to play the "special interests" game. In what way was this post lacking in content? In what way was this post "hate speech"? I am not denigrating the person as such, but Waxman's conduct, his performance, and his legislative record indicate that he is no longer a proper candidate for Congress.
