The CATCH Mentor Program at Marquez Charter School is looking for volunteers.
The program needs mentors to assist students with their homework, according to coordinator Christi Catalano.
Volunteers are expected to commit an hour a week between the end of September and early May.
People who are interested are not required to have a direct connection to the school, Catalano said.
"Friends, neighbors and grandparents are welcomed and encouraged to mentor,” Catalano said. “It is a great way for the Marquez community to work at the school and give back."

The school’s Academic Performance Index, or API, scores rose to 934 last year. Catalano hopes mentors will be able to help students perform at an even higher level this year.
