A huge was expected in Southern California over Labor Day weekend. Areas like Imperial Beach, Coronado, La Jolla, Solana Beach, Oceanside, Trestles, Huntington Beach and Newport Beach saw waves as big as 8-10 feet.
Patch had cameras out and about along the coast from Pacific Palisades to Santa Monica, trying to catch some shots of monstrous waves. It seemed either we constantly missed the big sets, or the Palisades area just didn't see too much spectacular surf.
Either way, the waves were churning a bit and folks hit the beach to get in on the action.
