Palisades Historical Society to Sell Recyclable Tote Bags
A St. Matthew's Parish School student will be selling them Sunday at the farmer's market. Also, there's a talk Monday night at Theatre Palisades about what it was like during World War II in the community.
Tote bags with a historical flare will be on sale this weekend at the Pacific Palisades Historical Society's booth this Sunday at the farmer's market.
Eric Dugdale, president of the historical society said St. Matthew's Parish School student Emily Minor will be at their booth selling an environmentally-friendly bag to replace plastic bags at the markets, and it will contain an archival photograph from the community's past.
He said Minor came up with the idea and it's a nice, inexpensive polyester tote bag. They will contain a picture of a model A bus.

Palisades Goes to War: 1941-1945
Dugdale added on Monday night, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Theatre Palisades they are presenting "Palisades Goes to War: 1941-1945, where 70 years ago on Feb. 24, a battle raged in the skies over Los Angeles. It was 1942, just a few months after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. America had entered the war and all that stood between us the Japanese Empire was a few thousand miles of water.

Two authors and historians, Roger McGrath and Randy Young, who grew up in Pacific Palisades have stories to tell about that time.
Admission is free and the public invited. There's on street parking. Refreshments follow the program.
