Pacific Palisades Weekend Wrap-Up: Sept: 3-4
This edition came out a bit later than usual, but perhaps it will inspire some great photos this weekend!
Maybe you stayed home this weekend with a good book and a movie, or perhaps you went overseas. Whatever you chose to do with your Saturday and Sunday, Pali Patch has no doubt it was memorable. After all, with the beach on one side and the mountains on the other, Palisadians know how to make the most of a day off.
In this week's edition (Sept. 3-4):
Why Did the Coyote Cross the Road?
Well, we kind of know the answer, probably to get to the other side. Palisadian caught a coyote trotting across Palisades Drive. It was in the evening, about 7:15, so perhaps it was running late for a dinner party in the Highlands!

Surf's Up
Patch ad manager caught a few cool shots at the beach just off of Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades. Surfers were expecting a south swell from Sept. 1-5, which was predicted to bring 8- to 10-footers to more southern beaches, such as Newport Beach and Imperial Beach.

Bunny Board, Anyone?
Palisadian Mary Ireland caught a bunny sitting pretty at . Perhaps he was entranced by big waves, or lost his bunny board.
Veterans for Peace
Pali Patch contributor snapped a photo of a display arranged by a group called Veterans for Peace on Sept. 4. According to the group's website, the Los Angeles chapter sets up 2,500 crosses in the sand near the Santa Monica Pier every Sunday.
A Picture Perfect Sunset
Dani Durkin sent in a gorgeous photo of the sunset on Sept. 4 from the Highlands. She noted that the sun was setting, just as a half moon was rising behind the pink clouds. What a way to close a weekend in the Palisades!
Send us your weekend photos … even if they're as simple as sunny views from your beach chair. We'll post them next week. It's never too early to start dreaming about next weekend, right?
