Late-Night Coyote Sighting on Temescal

A Palisades resident spotted a coyote late Monday night while driving.

A Palisades resident reported seeing a coyote on Temescal Canyon Road between Sunset Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The resident said she was driving toward Sunset on Temescal when she saw the coyote about a quarter mile away from . She said it took its time crossing the street.

It was too dark to snap a photo, but it seems the coyote may have just been out for a midnight stroll.

Although they once lived mostly in open areas such as prairies and deserts, coyotes can now be found in areas like Los Angeles, according to National Geographic. Its website notes coyotes adapt well to changing environments.
