LAFD Dalmatian Finalist in NBC Top Fire House Dog Contest

The dog, named Wilshire, is currently in 3rd place. Voting ends Sept. 30.

Wilshire the Los Angeles Fire Department Fire Dog is a finalist in NBC's Today Show contest for the nation's top Fire House Dog. 

According to the NBC site, Wilshire was rescued when his family had to give him up. The dalmatian helps kids throughout the city learning about fire safety and proper nutrition.  

Wilshire is currently in 3rd place and voting ends Sept. 30! Voting takes place online at the NBC website. The winner will receive a cameo on NBC’s “Chicago Fire.”
