Kids Meet Santa Claus, Help Light Tree in Pacific Palisades [VIDEO]

Christmas carols, Santa Claus and decorations, including the lighting of a large tree on the Village Green, kicked off the holiday season in Pacific Palisades.

Emma Lyman of Pacific Palisades held onto her father, Thaine, while waiting on Via De La Paz, eager to tell Santa Claus what she wanted for Christmas. Dozens of children were nearby, excited and nervous about seeing Santa.

"A puppy. A great dane," she said when asked what she wanted this year.

Families filled the village Friday night for the 62nd annual Holiday Ho! Ho! Ho! and a tree lighting later on the Village Green. The Ho! Ho! Ho! is put on by the chamber of commerce and the tree lighting is held by the Village Green Committee.

Chamber Executive Director Arnie Wishnick said they got hundreds of gifts for the children who attended to see Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. The line for Santa stayed filled with parents and children throughout the night.

Fire Station 69 rode in the Clauses, as well as Mr. Palisades Joel Rosenthal and Miss Palisades Kelly Costa, Chamber President Nicole Howard and Hon. Fire Chiefs Marge and Bob Gold.

Ben Lowe, director of the Santa Monica Oceanaires, a men's A Cappella group, sang several holiday songs during the Holday Ho! Ho! Ho! He said "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was the most popular this year among children.

Shortly after 7 p.m., several crowds made their way across Sunset Boulevard to the Village Green for more caroling and the lighting of a large tree.
