Cast Your Groundhog Day Prediction! Will Phil See his Shadow?

On Saturday, Feb. 2, Punxsutawney Phil will appear again to make his prediction about spring.

Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow this year?

If the groundhogs see their shadow this year, they will be frightened and want to run back into their burrow, and six more weeks of winter will follow, according to traditions brought to America by German (Pennsylvania Dutch) immigrants. If they don't, spring is around the corner.

Last year, Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter

Phil is expected to leave his burrow at 7:20 a.m. today at Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney, PA. He will then observe the weather conditions and look for his shadow.

Even though winter in SoCal gets spring-like rather early, here's what Pacific Palisades Patch readers had to say about the groundhog's predictions:

Fridom Snowbird No, Spring is already here.

John Printy No, not a big Fan of Spring time, myself, I much prefur Winter time, and all the cold weather......

We want to know your prediction before Saturday. Will he see his shadow? What do you think? Tell us in the comment section below!

Not sure. There's not always an immediate answer to helicopters circling. Did anyone else hear orRead More see this? How long did it last? Was it just 1 copter or many police units?
