Families, Children and Healthy Home Interiors
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
April 10, 2014 at Pacific Palisades Woman's Club
A "beyond green" healthy home is essential for people of all ages. And when it comes to healthy buildings and interiors, the most important and most sensitive individuals are the developing baby and small children. Mary Cordaro will help you make better decisions regarding your choice of building and interior materials, ventilation and EMF's avoidance for a truly healthy home. Whether you are currently pregnant, planning a family, have children or not, begin now to turn your home in to a retreat, and give your family a much needed break from outside pollutants.
Mary Cordaro, president and founder of Mary Cordaro Inc, is a healthy building and indoor environmental consultant, and a Certified Bau-Biologist. The German field of Bau-Biologie is the study of how the built environment affects both human and planetary health . Since 1989, Mary has been helping clients concerned about or sensitive to building and interior materials and systems. She troubleshoots and solves contaminant problems in existing homes. She also specifies the healthiest (“beyond green”) building, remodeling and interior products and materials for projects of all sizes, from simple room improvements to brand new construction. Her collaborative approach is unique, synthesizing the fields of German Bau-Biologie and American Building Science. Mary works with and often directs a group of world class, highly specialized experts from the U.S., Germany and Switzerland, who consult on all aspects of new construction, remodeling, and energy efficiency, as well as testing and remediating existing buildings for mold, chemicals, EMFs and many other toxins. Many of Mary’s clients are new or prospective parents who want their children to start out in a healthy environment. Mary also consults to people with allergies, asthma, chemical and electrical sensitivities. She consults to and teaches homeowners, architects, interior designers, contractors and medical doctors around the country.
