FRIENDS OF LANCE CARSON

The friends of Lance Carson are holding a benefit for their friend at 7:00 on Thursday, February 27 at the Beech Street Café at 863 Swarthmore Avenue in Pacific Palisades.

The board-building business has experienced a bit of a downturn with the rest of the economy, and Lance’s friends are getting together to throw some money into the calabash to give Lance some breathing room to get his business up and running again.

The event is being co-sponsored by Martin, the general manager of Beech Street Café and Jeff Ridgway: “Lance has been a friend & neighbor of mine for over 20 years,” Ridgway said.  “and I got the idea of having a dinner for him from a story of the Impressionist painters in Paris long ago, who used to do this as a way to gather funds when someone needed some help making rent.

The event is going to be very simple: pizza, salad, soft drinks, conversation, a little surfing history; and Lance will also probably talk a bit about changes he is making to his surfboard business.

We are distributing $100 per person ‘tickets’ for the event - all checks are made out to ‘Lance Carson.’  We are also grateful for support of any amount from people who cannot attend, or just wish to help out.   All the money collected goes to Lance, and none is used for the event itself.”
