ADULT CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST OFFERED BY FRIENDS OF PALISADES LIBRARY

The Pacific Palisades Library Association invites the Palisades community to submit their original literary pieces to the third annual adult creative writing competition.

There are three categories:

A few rules: Writers must be residents of Pacific Palisades and at least 21 years of age. Submissions must be original, not published in any form, nor have won any awards. Entries that were submitted last year for this competition are not eligible. The prose entries may be no longer than three pages, 12 pt. font, double-spaced. Writers must submit only one piece. Poems are limited to 400 words.

The Library Board will accept submissions beginning January 13, 2014 through March 1, 2014. Submissions will be accepted at the Palisades Library. Winners will be announced at a festive reception at the library on Saturday evening, March 29, 2014. Published authors and poets will serve as judges for the competition.

In keeping with the highly successful and entertaining format for the children’s creative writing contests, professional actors will read the winning entries. Winning entries will be awarded prizes and, in addition, be published on the Pacific Palisades Library Association website, friends@friendsofpalilibrary.org
