Join Chamber Music Palisades on Wednesday, April 24 at 8 pm for their 27th season’s finale featuring chamber music pieces by American, German, French, Italian, and Romanian composers and performed by professionals from the area’s leading ensembles/orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, San Diego Symphony, and Santa Monica Symphony. 

The local luminaries include Jonathan David (oboe), Sergio Coelho (clarinet), Judith Farmer (bassoon), Amy Jo Rhine (horn), and Chamber Music Palisades Artistic Director Susan Greenberg (flute). The concert, hosted by KUSC’s Alan Chapman, also features the renowned duo pianists Bernadene Blaha and Kevin Fitz-Gerald, who serve on the faculty of USC’s Thornton School of Music when not performing at major venues worldwide. 

The Sidney Stern Memorial Trust sponsors the performance.

The 34rd Annual Southern California Spring Garden Show takes place April 25-28 at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. The four-day show on three levels of the west wing of South Coast Plaza centers around a dramatic 25-foot-high floral creation with whimsical depictions of sea life on a coral reef, all made with flowers, seeds, and other natural materials.
Eight stylish and sustainable outdoor living vignettes are waiting to be discovered on level one of the Crate &amp; Barrel/Macy’s Home Store wing. Created by Southern California’s top design experts collaborating with South Coast Plaza home stores, the water-wise designs offer inspiration for gardens and outdoor spaces.
Levels two and three of the show will feature 35 specialty vendors with unique and collectible plants for sale at pop-up booths and boutiques, as well as nonprofits and horticultural organizations offering advice, insights and information.
Just across the Bridge of Gardens in South Coast Plaza's luxurious Jewel Court wing, Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE features elaborately decorated mannequins and spectacular installations&nbsp;created by local floral artists. Surrounded by boutiques from the world’s most exclusive brands, Fleurs de Villes celebrates the women&nbsp;artists, from contemporary visionaries and trailblazers, to world masters from throughout history.

Thursday April 25, 2024: The 34rd Annual Southern California Spring Garden Show takes place April 25-28 at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa....

Palisades Branch Library to Showcase Local Teens Creativity Local Teens, including members of Teens Leading Change (TLC) in conjunction with Palisades Branch Teen Council, Pali High art and photography students, will be presenting their work to the community in May. Teens at work on their project in the newly refreshed teen area below. A kick-off celebration will take place on May 1st from 4-6 pm in the Teen Area of the Palisades Library when TLC group will present their work. Guests can view the finished native pollinator garden from the Teen Area. Art work and photography will be on display in the Teen area and the community room. There will also be an Open House on Saturday May 4 from 11 am-1 pm in the Teen Area. Friends of the Palisades Library will provide refreshments from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SweetLaurelBakery?__tn__=-]K*F" role="link" tabindex="0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sweet Laurel Bakery</a> in the Community Room on both days. Palisades Branch Library is located at 861 Alma Real. Parking options include free parking in the library lot and metered street parking.&nbsp;
