Realtors Create Buzz on Homes for Sale with Helicopter Footage

Watch the video to see how buyers are getting a high-definition view of properties in the Palisades and Malibu.

In Los Angeles, you see helicopters flying about for various reason: rescues, crime and—of course—dreaded traffic. Bill Kerbox, president and CEO of Miramar Coastal Properties, is taking the practice to new heights. He and HeliMalibu have teamed up to create high-definition footage of luxury homes for sale.

"Once we have that commercial-quality video, then we are able to take it and start to run with it," said Kerbox. "We can put it in the MLS [Multiple Listing Service], we can put it in the Patches, Realtor.com … we can run with it."

The technology is pieced together by the tech-savvy team at HeliMalibu. The crew members have all worked in the film and television industry, but decided to use their skills to sell homes.

"Everybody's trying to sell a house," said David Bone of HeliMalibu. "Not everybody's trying to make a film."

The crew flies a Hexa Cam, a camera mounted on a tiny six-bladed helicopter that creates a buzz but is much easier on the ears than a full-fledged helicopter. Plus, the remote-controlled cameras can even fly inside a house and across a pool without the neighbors noticing.

HeliMalibu's services range from $500 to a percentage of the sale of the property. For more information, contact HeliMalibu directly, or your real estate agent.
