Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Pick the Best Burger in Town

Patch embarks on a quest to find the city's best burger. Are you up for the challenge?

Patch knows readers have their favorite burgers, and we want to find them. Whether slathered in bleu cheese or special sauce, flanked by sesame seed buns or sourdough, the lettuce is leafy or chopped, or topped with bacon or mushrooms, there are a million burger combinations.

Patch will be designating a "Best Burger in Town" award to one establishment in each neighborhood.

The winner might come from a burger chain, an indie burger joint or a hoity-toity restaurant. The champ could be all-beef, or an ahi tuna burger. Every place, and every burger, is unique.

Once we get nominations, we'll have a poll for readers to vote for the best burger and also a forum to debate the issue because, really, that's going to be just as fun.

Here are some local spots where you can order a juicy burger, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it:

Nominate your favorite before Friday at 9 a.m. by mentioning your favorite burger spot in the comments section below. We'll start voting on Monday. If there's a tie, the location with the most positive comments wins!

For most of my life, I've known that the best burger in L.A. is the hickoryburger at Apple Pan on Pico.

I assume you are looking for burgers in the Palisades only? Not West LA or Santa Monica? Pearl Dragon also has a burger on its menu, don't know if its the best, I only go there for the sushi & cocktails ......
BTW, Apple Pan is only good for those that grew up here; the rest of us agree it SUCKS.

I have tried the burger and it's great--one of the better ones--couldn't believe it came from a sushi place!!

Yes, since the Wing Ding Burger was so popular, the Pearl Dragon it on their menu as the one remaining item from House of Lee. As for Apple Pan, I've taken countless friends and family members from out of town, and they've all loved the hickoryburger!
