Palisades Library Hosts Electric Car Film

The Palisades branch of the LAPL will screen the film with a Q&A with the actors and some examples of electric cars.

Taking the simple scenario of a father and daughter working together on a school assignment, the film What Is the Electric Car? is meant to educate the public about the vehicle and blast some myths along the way.

The film will be screened Sunday at the Palisades branch of the Los Angeles Public Library at 2 p.m. There will also be a question-and-answer session with the filmmakers and a half-dozen electric vehicles on display.

"This is an educational documentary," said Scott Dupont, the narrator and host of the film, as well as one of its producers.

While the father and daughter characters are fictional, the film is about uncovering the facts about electric cars and answering some of the common objections to buying them, such as that they're slow or expensive.

The film was released June 1 and has been screened at the Orlando and Miami film festivals. It is being distributed by Celebrity Home Entertainment and is available via Pay-Per-View on a wide variety of cable systems.

The screening is free. The branch library is located at 861 Alma Real Drive, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272, (310) 459-2754
